Hi all,the newest version is out with redesigned gui, translated for non-hungarians (if there is any :-D ) .Needs gambas3 to run. Try it, enjoy it. Sources and packages :http://sourceforge.net/projects/systemback/files/Repository :https://launchpad.net/~nemh/+archive/systemback
I am going to be using the holidays to switch over my laptop from 11.1 to 11.2. However, this laptop is mission-critical, and it's been in use for years, so I have everything on it, including all the latest 11.1 updates, stuff from non-opensuse repositories, etc.
What I love on iOS is, system always backs up following things:
Applications that you installed (not app itself but link to appstore)
Apps' configuration files and saved data
Whole system configuration
And I've found some similarities with iOS on this system. For ex., both OSs have application centre with app installation queue functionality.
I am a newcomer, and I hope that someone will help me find out what is wrong, and learn how to do this.
I have been performing backups using f -> Administration -> Backup. The backup location is a second internal HD, NTFS partition.
This simple tutorial will show you how to purge packages that have already been removed with apt. In Ubuntu Linux when a package is uninstalled, the configuration files are left on the system. Purging a package will get rid of these configuration files to free disk space and keep system clean.
How to Purge packages:
First launch a terminal window from the dash or press Ctrl+Alt+T.
Hi,
My OpenSUSE setup has become quite complex and so I would like to back it up in order to shorten the time it takes to restore from backup and get the system running. I already have an excellent way to back my data (documents, photos, downloads, etc), so this need not be a solution for those.
What I want to be able to restore is:
Amon_Ra's Recovery
Reboot system now :: Self explanatory.
Reboots device
USB-MS toggle :: USB Mass Storage.
Mounts the SD card
Backup/Restore (See NANDroid backups
for more information)
Nand backup :: Creates a backup of /
system, /data, /boot, /cache, and /
sdcard/.android_secure (on SD card)
Nand + ext backup :: Creates a Nand
backup plus /sd-ext ( apps2SD) (on SD
card)
Nand restore
Hello, I was exploring Ubuntu and I clicked on Dash. I searched for "Naut..." then I saw 2 applications their mames are "Home Folder" and "Files". Accidently, I transported Files to the Desktop. I've 2 questions which may be unimportant. Sorry for wasting your time.
1. Can someone tell me where were it to restore it?
I'm using Ubuntu 12.10 installed alongside with Windows 7. Can I just have a system backup in the form of one or more DVD(s) so that I can restore the system with every package that are previously installed and if possible can I make use of that DVD(s) as a live CD with all the previously installed packages?
If "Back In Time(root)" is installed in my system, will it be useful?
