I have been trying to install a gedit plugin called RunC to compile C programs using the text editor.
Although the instructions tell me to use ubuntu 9 or 10 for this, I'm currently running Fedora 16. I thought that I would not have much problems, but after running the shell script using the sh command to install the plugin, gedit showed no signs of the plugin being installed.
I've been developing in python using gedit 3 for a bit now, but without an auto-complete plugin of any kind, it becomes a bit confusing sometimes.
After searching for hours, I came up with a few plugins for this issue, but all for gedit 2.
If no one knows of a plugin like this for gedit 3, any info or references to some guide to port gedit 2 plugins to gedit 3?
I dont know if this is even possible inside of gedit, i know there are third party editors that will do this but i like gedit and would like to know if anyone knows of such a plugin because i cant find one.
In Part One about Gedit I covered three neat plugins to make it more productive and user friendly. More recently, I discovered another plugin that I simply couldn't ignore. The good news is that it really is cool; the not so good news is that the plugin is not available from the repositories, there is no PPA and no third-party stand-alone binary (yet).
I just ran into a problem with the snippets plugin of gedit 3.4.1 running on Ubuntu 12.04. The problem is that the snippets plugin stops working (i. e., doesn't react to keyboard shortcuts and tab-completion) when a file has an encoding other than UTF-8, e. g. ISO-8859-1.
