Install library in linux

http://www.unix.com – Hello, I try to install a library (BLCR) on Ubuntu , i'd like to install it on two machines. This library has a respository named blcr-build , i have this rep in /home/user1 in machine1 and in /home/user2 in machine2. When can i store this repository of the library so i will have the same path of this rep in two machines ? Thank you (HowTos)

I have a project I am working on. I use a library that is on GitHub. Normally I have been using this library via Maven. However there are some bugs in the library so I would like to include this library in my repo so I can modify it. I then build the library myself.

What is the best strategy for this?

I am making an rpm of my shared library. In the .spec file, I am writing the normal install commands in %install part ,making some soft links, running ldconfig on %post and %postun. I am not building library in rpm because I already have compiled and stripped library with me.

I want to update the core packages of R on ubuntu 12.04. But every time R says that it has no permissions to write to the library. Other packages with do not come with the r-core installation through the terminal. sudo apt-get install r-base are installed in my personal library.

So ive got some development library's in C (as in non standard) and ive no idea how to put them into the system permanently.

I'm a Java newbie who just a made a simple Java program using SWT for GUI via eclipse Juno. The code was working and the program was able to run inside eclipse, so I compiled it and made it a runnable jar file so it can be run outside eclipse. I tried to run it using the terminal and this error came up.

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Could not load SWT library.

I recently built a computer running Ubuntu 11.10. It works great, except for one thing. With some video DVDs, the movie player just says "An error occurred. Could not read DVD. This may be because the DVD is encrypted and a DVD decryption library is not installed." What is a DVD decryption library, and how can I install it? Thanks!

I have been looking at the TDS++ library by Raketforskning.com to access MS SQL Server instance from a Linux box on my network. This library is based on Mickael Faivre-Macon's CTLib C++ which in turn uses FreeTDS.

I would like to know if this library is still being maintained. Several links on the website are broken and their email addresses are bouncing back.

I am trying to compile the last development version of Yap Prolog in OSX (Mountain Lion). The first time I tried I saw this message:
