Hi,
Because my DVD drive has problems with read-eyes, I want to boot Knoppix from ISO file on HDD.
Well I know it isn't ruined, but I just dd'd the newest DSL onto my 4GB flash drive. The problem is, I without thinking copied it right over the partition table and now the flash drive shows up named "KNOPPIX" and says it is locked. Even after using gparted to completely erase it AND create a new file system several times over, it is still named KNOPPIX, and locked. Any ideas?

Note: I am so new to linux that I don't understand a code that you might tell me to enter into the terminal emulator if you don't include the 'knoppix@Microknoppix:~$' that automatically comes before it.
you'll have to forgive me. but i haven't used knoppix since...well forever (ok a few years) but anyways a lot has changed on the way to 6.0 including the way that i know how to make a persistent knoppix image.
so how would one do that in 6.0? i did do some googleing but all i found where seemingly "out dated" ways
This month’s Linux Magazine DVD features the brand new Knoppix 6.7 Live distro [1] [2]. With its clever on-the-fly decompression, Knoppix manages to store 9GB of software on a single-layer DVD.
Does knoppix contain amarok?
Does it play MP3 by default?
