For those of you that use the infinality freetype patches, there is good news.
He has the Fedora 18 repo up and running, so you can install and use the infinality patches on F18.
To install the repository definition:
Code:
su -
(root password)
rpm -Uvh http://www.infinality.net/fedora/linux/infinality-repo-1.0-1.noarch.rpm
and to install the freetype patches:
Code:
yum i
Yeah, remove fonts.conf and Xdefaults. Use Infinality, just install freetype2-infinality and fontconfig-infinality. To set them you have to set a rendering style with this command (Second one, that is Infinality, works very well):sudo /etc/fonts/infinality/infctl.sh setstyleand choose suitable rendering settings from this file:/etc/profile.d/infinality-settings.shYou have to edit end of the file.
First of all! Hi! I'm new here.
My problem is that i'm trying elementary OS and the fonts are no that smooth like in Ubuntu stock or how i got 'em in Arch when i installed some patches.
I'm trying to install Infinality patch but i can't get it to work!
Setup Infinality Font smoothing and supixel hinting for Fedora
The default fedora font settings are not that great and most of the people really do not find it as attractive as Ubuntu or Linux Mint. But Infinality brings a big change in the Font settings area for Fedora.
Is it possibru?I understand that fonts need to be fixed/mono spaced fonts. But I want to get Comic Sans to work as my Konsole font (seriously, dont laugh). I see there is a freetype2-infinality patch in the ccr http://chakra-linux.org/ccr/packages.php?ID=4219could this be a step in the right direction? cheers

I want to update the packages. How to impose these patches ?
I have a fresh install of latest Claire-2012.9 (x86_64)My mirrorlist points to : Server = http://chakra-project.org/repo/$repo/x86_64The news announced about big system change to systemd was announced 3 day's ago but every time I run the recommended command it barfs (see below).
Hey guys, thanks for your great work.I have downloaded the current release, Chakra 2012.10, and used this ISO image for a fresh install on vm player 4.x. But I found that xf86-video-vmware package is not available in this ISO. So I have to enter "Terminal Install", and use pacman to install the package, then switched to KDE desktop environment.
