At first look, out of the box support for the wireless card looked great! It even worked with the live cd. The problem began after the installation was done.
I don't suppose you can use any program in Fedora Live that isn't already there.
I am in the process of playing with Fedora 17 Live before installing it over a Fedora 14 installation.
I tried to add gimp, and it seemed to claim that it had added it, but it wasn't there.
Is there any way around this?
Note.
Announced earlier today, September 18th, the Fedora 18 Alpha (Spherical Cow) Linux operating system has been officially released for testing. Being powered by Linux kernel 3.6, the GNOME Edition of the Fedora 18 Alpha Live CD comes with the GNOME 3.5.5 desktop environment.

This tutorial will show you how to install the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) on a Fedora 15 PC. I’ve just installed a fresh Fedora 15 under my Windows 7 box with VirtualBox 4.1. After installing Adobe Flash Player on Fedora 15, now I want to install Java on my Fedora 15. Its pretty easy [...]
Ive been wanting to install Fedora 12 but I have a couple of questions and some concerns. I was reading the sticky note regarding installing from the live cd and partitions setup. Im already running a dual boot with XP and Debian 5.03 with the Grub boot loader installed, setup as XP on (hd0,0) and Debian on (hd1,0). I just want to get rid of Debian and install Fedora to that drive.
I'd like to install a base Fedora system meaning without all the other programs/applications that come when installing a Gnome/KDE/XFCE spins.
I'm trying to boot Fedora 17 from a USB, I tried both the DVD version and the one on the main page. I've used: Linux Live USB Creator, Live USB Creator (Fedora-one), and Unetbooting. I also tried after clicking "a" and
Code:
root=live:CDLABEL=LIVE if=/home/per/Fedora-17-x86_64-DVD.iso of=/dev/sdb
Everything failed. Fedora just don't want to install no matter what I'm trying.
I had fedora 17 in a primary partition. Yesterday I have installed ubuntu in an extended partition. and I cant see fedora in grub, so I trieg update-grub2 but it doesnt recorgonise fedora being present, even the fedora partition is mounted. So I tried to re-install grub from live usb but it didnot work either.
How to bring back my fedora? I don't want to re-install fedora in the other partition.
