Matthieu James has updated his popular Faenza and Faience icon sets with many new icons.
He has also released a new Faience GTK theme and its looks absolutely beautiful with Ubuntu 12.10 (supports both Gnome Shell and Unity).
The Faience Gnome Shell theme has also been updated to work with Gnome 3.6.
I use the Faenza icon collection in Ubuntu 12.04 Unity with no issues.
I just installed ubuntu 12.10 but i have an issue
I installed faenza icon theme with this way : http://handytutorial.com/install-faenza-icons-ubuntu-12-10/
but when i switch to faenza theme from gnome tweak tool some icons are broken. For example i attach screenshots :

Any idea why this happens ?
I am using Faenza icon theme and it looks great , but I dont like its top panel icons. I would like to continue to use Faenza but replace the top panel icons with ubuntu-mono-dark. How can I do that?(I suppose that I have to transfer some files from mono-dark to faenza , but I have no idea which).
Thank you in advance.
Hello,I am using the excelent Faenza-icon-theme, but the damn gvim icon will not change. What I have done,Change /usr/share/applications/gvim.desktopicon=gvimand icon=gvim.pngand icon=/usr/share/icons/Faenza/apps/48/gvim.pngI have also followed the directions on the Faenza project page, nothing worked.I have replaced /usr/share/pixmaps/gvim.png with the Faenza icon.Has anyone figured this out yet?T
Install faenza-icon-theme from the AUR (which I think is by far the most popular icon theme pack) and then study the contents of the "/usr/share/icons/Faenza/" folder.

I installed the faenza-icon-set via ppa, and it works fine - except in firefox: Some icons are replaced by faenza (forward, back, home, copy, cut ...) and some icons not (favorites, history, downloads, new window, new tab ...). How can I force Firefox to replace all icons by the new theme?
The GTK+ Native Theme doesn't help. It only changed something with the tabs ...
swanson wrote:One solution is to copy all status icons from Faenza Dark to your icon theme of choice. Of course, that will destroy all nice status icons in that icon theme. In Faenza Dark the png's are called 'gpm-battery-xxx-xxx.png' and 'gpm-primary-xxx-xxx.png', or the like. You could also copy each and every one of them manually for all sizes and scalable too.
I noticed a good few people have made comments about the use of the GNOME icon theme in the initial Waldorf image. For what it is worth, the goal for the initial image was mainly to get the build scripts ported from Squeeze to Wheezy, and therefore I did not spend much time polishing the look 'n' feel.
