Dropbox is a popular free software that sync files between your desktop pc and laptop. When you installed Dropbox and set the Dropbox folder. All files/subdirectories from the folder are two-way synced to Dropbox server and can be downloaded/synced in another machine with Dropbox Client installed.
I installed Apache 2.4.6 on Ubuntu 13.10 and put some html files in /var/www/, the default base folder. I then needed to share those html files to a synced Dropbox folder, so I moved the www folder into my Dropbox folder and replaced it with a symlink of the same name. Note that the www folder in Dropbox has read permission.
I assume that if I select for a specific folder not to be synced with my computer anymore I will be able to delete that folder from my dropbox folder(on my computer) without worry of it being deleted from my dropbox account?
I'm trying to set up backup using Dropbox on my server. I got Dropbox installed and it works great. It's currently syncing the whole account and I don't want that. I figured there's an exclude option - but it's not good for me. I'd have to exclude a folder manually every time I create a new irrelevant folder for this specific device (linux server).
Download Dropsync. It may have to be the pro-version. ( I am not sure.)
1. Open dropsync settings. Click on synced Folders, then add synced folder.
2. Search through folders to find your storage folder; then Select internal SD card.
I use Dropbox to sync almost all of my documents, work and personal. I also have a bunch of MATLAB routines that I'd like to sync with other users of a lab that I work at. In the lab, I only want the one folder to sync.
I have a Dropbox folder on my Media Temple server at ~/Dropbox and I have a sub folder symlinked to a folder (a subdomain) in my web root using a Kirby CMS install at ~/domains/mysite/content where 'content' is the symlink.
The content is displayed fine but the images 503.
The permissions are as follows:
drwxr-xr-x 5 simplebitdesign.com simplebitdesign.com 6 Dec 9 00:12 Dropbox
