Hi,
I'm trying to install Lubuntu on an old Toshiba Satellite with 128Mb RAM.
From the LiveCD I can click install, but the install will not progress beyond the screen which checks for hard disk space, power and internet.
This machine doesn't have RJ45 or Wireless internet.
How can I complete this install?

I have no access to the internet on my computer and am trying to install all my required software through another computer. I have downloaded the deb file for gfortran version 4.5, and now I am looking for options to install the same on the computer which has Ubuntu 12.04.
This will be one of the weirdest questions you've ever heard.
Here's the deal: I have a bit of an internet limit and I let my dad do all the downloading for stuff. So I wait until I have a chance for free Internet (hotel or something) to do all my updates and such. Well, my mother is going somewhere with Internet but I cannot go with her.
I have used sakis3g to connect to internet as network manager is not able to make a connection although it recognizes the modem.But the problem is many software including pidgin and software center doesn't know that computer is already connected to internet and I am having problems installing software especially the debs I downloaded.
1) I can't install g++ in software center.
2) I can install other programs. For example, after I found g++ can't be installed, I installed chrome for test purpose through software center, and it worked!
3) g++ can be installed in the terminal via apt-get install. Only the software center way didn't work.
Who can tell me why this happens?
I have no internet on Ubuntu 12.04.1 so i'm on a desktop so I got to install a .exe program to run my wireless card for my desktop so I got internet access, But I can't seem to download wine or its source files. If I do I put on my usb and boot into Ubuntu but then when I try to open it I get the programs source files etc.
I am running Ubuntu 12.4 64amd. I cant get easy tether to install regardless of which version I use (32 or 64bit.) I keep getting an error when I try to run it in the command line. It tells me it not a valid deb file. If I click it on the desktop the instal manager comes up but the install button is not highlighted for me to click to install it that way. Please help.
