HOPEFULLY SOMEONE CAN HELP, IM LOST!!
I'm setting up a development server on a HP microserver with CentOS 6.3. I'm relatively new to Linux and have ran into some issues/confusion. I have the server fully setup/updated with yum. It's a headless server & I'm connecting via PuTTY. For the following installs of OpenCart, I'm logged in via SSH as a regular non-root user.
I'm trying to do a clean install of OpenCart 1.5.4.1.
I'm very new to RAID, so please bear with me.
I have 2 servers, both identical hardware, but one's running Windows Server 2003, the other is running CentOS.
I now need to make a clone of the Windows server on the machine that was running CentOS.
So, my question is...
Hi,
Until recently, I've been using CentOS on servers as well as on desktops. These last weeks, I've been migrating all my desktops to openSUSE 11.3. The server machines still use CentOS, but I have one desktop machine here that has to run an FTP server locally, for use with Ghost For Linux.
I installed vsftpd on the openSUSE machine and tried to configure it like I did before on CentOS.
My (postfix) mail server currently runs on an old PowerEdge 2650 and it badly needs a hardware upgrade.
I would like to put it on an 8 core (3rd Gen) 2950, but have no idea how to go about changing hardware. Do I have to install CentOS on the new machine and then figure out how to get postfix/mailman/ldap all working on the new one? Is there any type of information on how to do this?
Our small company has rented a remote machine some 3 year ago. The machine is used as a company server, runs our email, web, source code repository, bugtracker, forum, wiki, etc.
OS is linux CentOS 5.3, with Plesk 9.5 control pannel. I think both are too old.
How complicated is to update CentOS to current version?
I am running a virtual setup with vSphere, with two virtual machines, one running CentOS 6 and the other running Windows server 2008
The idea is to use LDAP to connect from the CentOS (as a client) to the Windows Server 2008 (as a server), and trying to access Active Directory from there.
There is a virtual switch between these two virtual machines, and both are running on the same subnet.
This tutorial below will show you how to install CentOS 5.6 complete with the screenshots. CentOS is a powerful Linux distribution that is good for desktop and server as well.
