I have installed Fedora 20 on a HDD connected to my motherboard SATA port. I have installed an LSI PCI-E MegaRaid 9420-8i card. To this card i have connected 2xHDD and created a "virtual drive" in RAID 0 using the adapters "web-bios". After booting into Fedora I do not see the RAID drive listed under fdisk.
After updating bios, firmware, driver, and all you can upgrade both the motherboard as the raid controller card, I'm still going through instabilities with the megaraid_sas driver in centos 6.... [by jlgazoli]
I have an Asus M3N78-EM motherboard with 3 WD 250GB drives connected to SATA ports 1-3. The BIOS currently is setup to see the drives as AHCI instead of raid due to the controller driver not being recognized in the CentOS 6 install. I have been able to setup LVM partitions and devices for all 3 drives to act as a software raid but when booting after install, CentOS 6 doesn't load.
