I have leased a dell poweredge r210 server, it's default configuration is CentOS 5.x as OS and a hardware RAID 1 controller configured. I want to configure my hardware RAID but can't seem to figure out where.
I have a Dell 2950 with a Perc 5/i Raid controller that we've already installed Nexentastor 3 Community Edition on. We setup a raid-10 array that and put a ZFS pool on top of the hardware. As I understand, in this configuration ZFS/Nexentastor will not be able to tell when a disk fails in the array. Obviously, this is not optimal.
There are multiple questions here - but it starts with this: we've a Dell PowerEdge R710 with a PERC 6/i RAID controller (or controllers) in a RAID10 configuration.
The system is running Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS with MySQL doing a read-intensive workload.
I increased readahead using blockdev --setra ### /dev/sda to increase readahead (the reads are, at least in theory, sequential reads).
We have a Dell Poweredge 2900 system with Dell Perc 5/i card and 4 SAS hard drives attached, with NTFS partitions on them.
I have Dell Poweredge R710 server with PERC H700 Integrated RAID controller. Currently there are 4 SAS 300GB disks in RAID-10 array exposing single volume of 600GB. Server is running VMware ESXi 5.1.
I have 4 new SAS 300GB disks that I would like to add to this server to gain ~ 1.2 TB RAID-10 volume.
I wonder if I can do this expansion without loosing data on existing disks?
We had an extended power outage (almost four hours); now I have a Dell PowerEdge 2850 server which is giving me this error (from a PERC 4e/DI) on boot up:
All drives are listed in the PERC configuration menu:
The failed drive does not show any indications of failure on the LEDs; the bottom appears to be green and the top is unlit.
i have a dell server. its a couple of years old and has a perc 4 raid controller in it. When i do an install it shows the drives configured in the raid 5 configuration. i select the disk and do an auto partition.
My company bought a Dell PowerEdge t710 server with:
48 GB ram 4x4
GB ethernet ports.
RAID 5 for PERC H700
4 x 1TB, SATA, 3.5-in, 7.2K RPM Hard Drive (Hot Plug)
My job is to configure Hyper-V system infrastructure on this server.
Hi. I am new to the server world and I just installed Centos 6.3 on my Dell PowerEdge 2850. I set up two RAID 1's using the server's RAID controller (Perc 4e). So I have 2 146 GB HDDs in ... [by Nameo0]
