India will not get Motorola's Intel based phone

The 2005 was the golden year for Motorola when it took the Indian market by storm when it launched Moto Razr.

This is Shankar from Pune, India. I have Motorola xt 800 which runs on outdated 2.1. I want to upgrade it to at least 2.2. It is under Motorola India warranty. I am quite new to smartphone! Any help would be greatly appreciated?

In August this year itself, Motorola had announced that it will not bring any new handset to India.

Motorola Mobility announced an enhanced version of its QWERTY-enabled Motorola Pro phone destined for Europe and Asia. The Motorola Pro+ moves up to Android 2.3, is considerably lighter, and offers improved 640 x 480 resolution and Corning Gorilla glass for its 3.1-inch screen, but carries over a 1GHz processor, a five-megapixel camera, and business-oriented features....

As we reported a couple weeks ago, Motorola Mobility and Intel have an event coming up on September 18th in London when we expect a public announcement regarding Motorola’s first phone to use Intel’s Medfield chip. Use of Intel chips in Motorola phones was announced at the beginning of 2012. It is not clear what else Motorola and Intel may be planning to announce.

Here in India because of motorola has packed from here you are getting Motorola razr XT910 just for 398$ that is 21900 INR...

Motorola has started rolling out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Atrix 2 mobile phone owners over the air.

Motorola is acquiring LiMo-linked middleware and Web 2.0 app software company Azingo, according to several reports. Several hundred India-based software engineers would be focused on lessening Motorola's dependence on Google, suggests The Register, while GigaOM speculates that Motorola is building its own OS and SFGate sees a China connection....

Earlier in the year, Motorola announced a partnership with Intel in which they would utilize their chips for select smartphones. We haven’t heard a peep until now. Motorola is sending out invites for an event in London on September 18th.
