On a Fedora 17 system (i915 hardware) KMS works out of the box - and using the console (i.e. Ctrl+Alt+F2 etc.) is very framebuffer-like. To the point that scrolling through a man page or cat log-files is dog-slow.
How can I configure the console speed in general? Or can I increase the scroll-speed somehow?
I'm getting very slow 3g speed on my htc evo that is flashed to boost mobile. The latest speed test result I got was 138dl/181up 264dl/633up 189dl/722up. My radio is 2.15.00.09.01 n my prl is 61009. Any thoughts, ideas i should try to do see if it my speed would increase?

I was using 11.04 natty ubuntu and using USB LAN E-100U network adapter to connect internet. It has started giving me very slow internet speed but window works fine with USB. I don't want to switch to window just for internet speed. Please suggest me the way to improve internet speed.
I have googled and found some tricks but still that does not help to get proper internet speed.
Any tips to improve rendering speed in Fedora? I notice it's very, very slow compared to Firefox on Windows, and Safari on Mac.
I know my hardware is quite old, but it should behave similar to Windows...

Did a fresh install of jaunty.
I noticed the fan was unnoticeable at startup, but at random or once I begin to run any applications the fan begins to speed up to a medium-high speed without slowing, even after closing the apps. Its pretty noticeable
The system monitor says the cpu isnt running above 5% but the fan is still at full speed
When I see posts on ThinkPad Fan the most common reason why people install it is because of fan noise, however my problem is more on fan speed, or the lack of it.

I have problem about very slow internet speeds. The manager at my work place tried to slow down the internet speed but when I use Windows with some download manager the internet speed is really good enough or when I test the speed of internet my results are good.
How can I do? Could you help me please?

I haven't noticed any delays when browsing the internet on Fedora, but right now I am trying to download the IRC client communication via the command su -c 'yum install konversation' and I am downloading at less than 2 killobytes per second. FIxes?
