Now that tax season is over, just a simple poll to see what people around here pay in taxes. Don't include sales taxes, property taxes, vehicle registration, etc. I'm just looking at straight income taxes. Include your federal, state, SS, Medicare, or self employment taxes if applicable.
Normally I would not post anything from the NYpost, as I consider it an utter rag. But the linked article has some interesting points re: the fees associated with Obamacare. I for one am a bit pissed that my medicare taxes will increase . . .
many people think that rich people dont pay enough in taxes. a lot of this comes from the fact that their net worth is much higher than their income. one solution to this would be to start taxing peoples net worth as well as their income. say, %2 of net worth each year. it would be great for the deficit.
