I have Realtek soundcard on my HP-430 notebook but I can't seems able to have it's HD sound experience. The sound is lousy compared to Windows 7.
I've been searching all over the 'www' to find any Realtek Audio Manager for linux or some sort of it but have no luck. All I could find is Realtek Soundcard driver form their website.
I don't want go back to Windows 7 because of it.

Does anyone know an app or something ing to improve sound quality on our device? The musicfx app that we have is absolute crap and you can't change the settings unless your in the lg music player. Anyone know another app or equalizer to replace it so that we have good sound quality with ALL apps.
I am running Xfce on Fedora 17, and one of the biggest problems I have is the exceptionally poor sound quality. There is no standard volume between various apps and sound sources.
When I boot Ubuntu 12.04 from a USB drive, I am unable to get sound to output through my TV speakers while having my machine connected via HDMI cable. Using Windows 7, the sound switches from the computer speakers to the TV speakers without a problem.
I have a Nvidia Geforce 310M.
I am not completely newbie, but then I am not a programmer. So I still consider myself a learner. In any case, I upgraded to FC 16 using preupgrade, and it even tested itself to see if the upgrade was OK and thus upgraded. Afterwards, I had no audio.
It did however, see my Realtek on board HD ATI SB (ALC883) card in every way. Kinfo, ALSA, and Pulseaudio saw it and said everything was good.
Just a follow up to this for anyone with the same issue. I ended up installing alsa, alsa-oss, and pulseaudio-alsa, and then configuring them with an Alsa Mixer (in this case xfce4-mixer, but there are others) and Pulseaudio Volume Control (pavucontrol). In Pulseaudio Volume Control, I disabled 'HD-Audio Generic', as it is for the HDMI output of my graphics card, and set
