udiskie works fine here - my guess is you don't have an active systemd session, as described here.
Not a solution, but you could try systemd suspend as an alternative - works perfectly for me.

Did you upgrade your kernel and not reboot?
It would be more useful if you also provided the equivalent Arch outputs for comparison, but my guess is you haven't installed the required firmware.
