Hi guys, I'm having 2 issues updating my Fedora 17 server.
1. The Software Updates app is broken and won't update anything.
I connect to my headless server through a VNC session.

At home I dont have wifi connection (no signal),so i connect my tablet when i go out.
2 days ago i connect my tablet, i went in "setting" click the "fimware update" button to check for update (the update to Jelly Bean should be arrived also for my tg).
I got 11 new updates.

I am new here (my first post) and I am just trying Fedora 17 KDE on a Virtual Box setup on my 3GHz machine with 3GB of ram and plenty of hard drive space.
Running 10.10 (Just can't abide the 12.10 desktop) and everything is working fine.However I do fear installing the (hundreds) of updates as a previous experience with Mint where updates caused a previous installation (that worked fine) crashed after installing updates.
Does the old adage "if it ain't broke don't fix it" apply in 10.10 or can I be ASSURED the updates won't cause proble

Hopefully someone can help me with this. I noticed recently that the software updater is not asking for a password. It does not ask for a password when i click on the "install now" button, nor does it ask for a password when I click on the settings button. The settings button brings up the software sources window.
The update information is outdated. This may be caused by network problems or by a repository that is no longer available. Please update manually by clicking on this icon and then selecting 'Check for updates' and check if some of the listed repositories fail."
I click show updates and then it opens the update manager and i click check.
I've been having this problem for almost a week. On my HTC EVO 4g, when I log into the Facebook app, I can see my news feed for about 10-30 seconds before I am kicked out with the "Authentication Failed" message.
I'm using Ubuntu 12.04. I am new at Ubuntu. The system has given me a message that says "you must check updates manually" ... "You can configure this behavior in Software Sources on the Updates tab".
But I can't find Software Sources.
