I'm missing something here, I have spend a day on this and got no where. I now have the standard 12.04 install with the ir buttons mapped from the IMon PAD VFD installer. However most buttons do not work. The pad does, enter and esc.

Hi all,
This is my first post, so be gentle. I've been working on setting up a HTPC with mythbuntu. I just installed mythbuntu 12.04 with Mythtv 0.25.
My remote is a Vista MCE made by Ortek (I followed these instructions to get it functioning properly, and everything looks great. The only problem is that I can't seem to control the Xfce desktop with the remote.
I've recently rebuilt my MythTV box using Mythbuntu 12.04, to take advantage of newer hardware (Ivy Bridge).
On my previous build I used lirc to manage the remote, i.e.
Yo people,
I am having a nightmare here.
I have two remotes, a MS MCE one (my preferred choice) and the rubbish one which came with my hauppauge NOVA-HD S2 card.
I am presently running Mythbuntu 11.04 32bit, but have tried, 10.04, 10.10, 11.04 64 bit.
I cannot get ANY output from IRW.
The remote is the A415-HPG-A model. (Silver). I'm running mythbuntu 11.04
When I installed myth I chose the Hauppage DVB-s remote.
The remote works but if you press a button it causes a double keypress (unless you are really light fingered) for example pressing button '1' on the remote gives me '11'.
It's usable but really annoying
Regards
Duncan
I am running Mythbuntu (Karmic) on my HTPC, using a Hauppauge card and remote. The remote works, except for one small thing. I can't get the button presses to repeat. Changing the values in the lircrc file doesn't have any effect.
Hi,
I have problems after upgrade from 10.04 to 12.04 Mythbuntu.
- recordings playback are playing faster like fast forward with 2x speed without sound.
- sounds are not working anymore with my ALSA config (asound.conf file in /etc/ directory. How can I get this working again in 12.04?
Hi folks!
I'm setting up my first mythbuntu box after wanting to for some time. Can anyone suggest a good hdmi card (around $100 or less) and a good remote control?
I ordered this thing, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o00_s00_i01
but now I'm thinking it's not going to work.
Sorry for the noob question, but as far as mythbuntu goes, I AM a N00b.
Thanks!
I have been having some strange problems trying to install Mythbuntu on a new HTPC set up. I am usually pretty good with a bit of trouble shooting & have used Linux exclusivly since going cold turkey on Windows about 4 years ago. However this situation really has got me beat.
I am trying to install Mythbuntu from a CD onto my new hardware configuration.
