Hello everyone, I was recommended CrunchBang by the User's over at Gentoo Forums and am downloading the Testing to a thumbdrive as i type this. This is my first time using a linux based OS and I am moving to it from Windows XP Professional after a lot of searching. Before I start, this should work for both Stable/Unstable/Beta.Alright so I was trying to install CrunchBang on my good ol IBM Thinkpad lappy, and I started running into a problem, later on it jumped to 3 and then 6, and I was freaking out because I spent my weekend/3 days trying to install the only linux os that I see in my eyes amazing (Crunchbang), anyways enough with useless talk.I had this id
Hallo.I'm new in CrunchBang. Used Ubuntu before on my netbook, but it was too slow.If I'm using CrunchBang 11 "Waldorf". Do I then have a rolling release? Will Ubuntu One work on CrunchBang? How do I get Firefox the easiest way? I miss the google searchfield on the right.Do I need to enable firewall?
Hi,I wanted to honestly appreciate the crunchbang team for coming up with a wonderful OS. Before this i tried out ubuntu and linux mint, and for some reason my system was really slow, with poor boot up times and low battery performance. Crunchbang seems to be ideal for my hardware, its very fast and my system is running cool and smooth.
For a long time I was using 2 Linux distributions: Gentoo and Ubuntu. While Gentoo was supperior in speed and customization (I was able to use my favorite Openbox-based environment), but it required too much time to maintain the system and incredibly much time to install and setup it on the new machine.
I'm trying to install PHP5, by compiling it myself.
I'm doing this on Crunchbang Linux, version 11. Specifically, the version using the 3.2 kernel. Crunchbang 11 is based on Debian. This is a 64-bit Virtual machine, running on a 64-bit Win7 Professional.
For those who might be interested, Planet CrunchBang Linux is now up and running.
Guys, i am running latest waldorf build, and I'm really pleased with it.But, I am having a issue,The time zone I've set in windows is +5:30 (IST), and i have set the same in crunchbang. The problem is that, crunchbang is considering the time in windows as +0 and shows +5:30 more in crunchbang.
