I can't seem to be able to have multiple administrators connect to Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. Each time a different administrator logs in, it takes the current session away from the user and gives it to them and boots the original user from the server.
I've also tried connecting 1 instance normally and a 2nd with the /admin flag on remote desktop and that didn't matter either.
I have a server with "Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Standard" operating system.
My problem is that I cannot access the server with Administrator account with two users at the same time... Just one can operate. Can you help me?
Here the scenario: I'm helping a really small business (less than 10 employees, no real administrators) migrate over an older sql server installation to a new box with new hardware.
We would like the new box to run on Windows Server 2008 R2, either Foundation or Standard (whichever is most cost-effective).
I'm working at a small company and since I worked tech support about 8 years ago (and have been a Software Engineer for most of the time since then), I'm responsible for all things computer related. I've inherited the current network/server configurations. I'm new to Windows Server 2008 so please be patient with me. I feel like there's an incredibly easy answer to this that I'm just not seeing.
I've installed a new printer in one my client server running Windows Server 2008 R2
configured the logon script to run at every login making it able to connect to every user whoever logs in.
I have just been given access to a new Windows Web Server 2008 R2 which has SQL Server 2008 R2 installed on it.
I have used my mobile phone to connect to other vpn's using PPTP and it has worked. I recently setup my own VPN on Windows Server 2008, it is working for Windows Clients, but when I connect with my phone I get the error message
"The connection was prevented because of a policy configured on your RAS/VPN server.
We have a Windows Server 2008 r2 Standard and a server that everybody logs into using RDP which runs Windows Server 2003. Now when people log into the RDP server, they only use an MS-Access frontend as their shell, explorer doesn't even run. However...it appears that all of their roaming profiles are needlessly being copied over to the RDP server when they log in.
Thank you for your time to look at this issue.
