I'm getting the following error when I apt-get upgrade:
Code:

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
But, I don't know how to troubleshoot this.
I want to have 2 different responses to errors on my page.
I want to see the error messages when there is an error with my asp (classic) file.
I want visitors to redirect to my 404.asp page when the web page they tried to access does not exist.
I recently did a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 two days ago. Or at least I thought it was 12.04, but actually 12.04.1. Now I'm having errors popping up from the grub loader. Error: no video mode activated which was apparently resolved in this bug# 699802. However these workarounds are for 11.xx and not working for me. I never had these errors before with 12.04 and now I'm getting them.
When upgrading from Terminal I get following ERROR:
Code:
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
On further Trouble Shooting I get:
Code:

The last two times I ran freebsd-update install the machine (re)booted from the GENERIC kernel instead of my custom kernel.
As suggested by Freebsd Update (section 25.2.2) I have a GENERIC kernel in /boot/GENERIC:
Note: It is a good idea to always keep a copy of the GENERIC kernel in /boot/GENERIC.
It will be helpful in diagnosing a variety of problems, and in performing version
upgrades using f
