Attempting to fix my church's computer... Ubuntu 11.04 operating system.. hp 8600 printer. The printer was working perfect, until they had a power outage. When attempting to print they would get a cups error. I got the system past this issue...now when selecting print, the computer goes through entire print process, and window pops up saying print successful, however nothing went to the printer.
I am using 12.04 64 bit. I have noticed if I configure (connect) any printer when my machine is connected to Lan (eth port) then it takes print job only if I am connected to Lan. If I try any printing job on wifi, it gets stuck in the print queue.
Hello all
I'm having trouble getting my networked printer to print and am hoping someone can lend some advice. I'm running openSUSe 11.3 on a laptop and the printer is connected to my desktop which is running Windows XP. I have the printer and several folders and drives shared. I can see the folders and drivers on my laptop but I cannot get the printer to actually print.
I have an HP Photosmart B210 this is a e-print printer capable of printing via wifi, I'm using this printer in Google cloud print, however there is a downside, the software that comes with it is only for Windows, so to print anything I'm using my Android device.
Transferring the file to my phone, then with HP's app or Cloud print app send the job to the printer which honestly is not that hard but
I installed a home network printer on my laptop, and could successfully print to it in evince. However, at work I use a remote CUPS server for printing. I added the CUPS server to the print settings of my machine, and the printer from my home network no longer appears there or in other print dialog boxes (such as Chromium).
I setup my Canon MX870 while running F17. I successfully printed a test page, and didn't print anything after that. I upgraded to F18 and tried to print, but nothing was sent to the printer. I've checked Cups (localhost:631) and it shows that the print jobs completed. While trying to troubleshoot I found that I can't ping my printer anymore. Well, I can but not always.
I have a Netgear WNDR4500 wireless router which allows me to print wirelessly to a printer connected to it via a USB cable.
I'm having an issue with the printer sometimes printing garbage. I will print one page and instead of getting one page the printer will start pumping out page after page of garbage. The printer is connected to Ubuntu through a usb cable and then I print from Win7 using samba and the Win7 has the windows drivers for the clp.
I installed 12.04LTS and have a DeskJet 1125C connected through USB.
The problem: Sometimes it does not print - in print jobs is status Pending/Processing but print does not start. I discovered if I print some documents then next document simply doesn't print with status processing or status pending. The only way is to disconnect printer from USB and immediately reconnect then works OK some times.
