I am not a big fan of the current separation of Android Development vs Original Android Development. In my opinion we are doing a disservice to the community by splitting the development forums. As a developer, I am not concerned with the status of my own mods or roms.
I have been a web developer since a year (mainly worked on php, python, mysql html/xhtml, css, jscript) and worked on wordpress, appengine and Django.. I am not a quite good web developer because i dont like web development that too much.. i love open source technologies and i would love to contribute in one..
Android Applications are Linux support and are programmed in Java. The Linux OS is the most powerful and easiest to manage of all operating systems. Android code is written using Java syntax and the core android libraries include most of the features included the core Java APIs.
I'm setting up Android Development Environment on my Macbook Air running OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
I have installed JDK for mac by downloading from oracle website.
Then I run java -version which shows java version "1.7.0_13"
Then I downloaded ADT bundle for MAC from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Then I ran eclipse and it shows a install dialog to install java.
What is Play Framework ?
Play Framework is a simple and powerful web development framework for Java/Scala. It’s very inspired from Ruby On Rails framework, so it’s like Rails, but for Java/Scala (initially it supported only Java, but now it also supports Scala (a programming language, very similar to Java, with some functional features, designed to be as a better Java)).
The purpose of this thread is to keep the development section tidy :) Since s advance has only got an android development board it becomes our duty (or so i believe) to keep it neat and let development get its priority .
