ICS camera & gallery?

http://forum.xda-developers.com – So maybe someone less noobish can clarify for me. In most of the ICS ROMs I've tried including the official TELUS one, the camera and gallery look identical to the ones in Gingerbread. In CM9 I see the camera and gallery that look like ICS to me. There is even an app in the Play Store called Gallery ICS which looks like it. So am I missing something here? Does ICS not officially come with the newer camera and gallery? As a side note it seems it cannot play FLV files and even some MP4 that were actually recorded with this phone but on previous ROM. If I go play it from within ES File Explore (HowTos)

Stories similar to ICS camera & gallery?

I just got the 4.2.2 system update notification on my phone from Verizon. Before I install it, I wanted to make sure the 4.2 camera/gallery I installed a while back (installed from zip using CWM, renamed old cam/gallery files if I remember right) wouldn't cause the update to error out. I'm rooted and on stock 4.1.1 Build JRO03O other than the newer camera/gallery. Thanks.

I guess my question is can my HTC One S have 4.2 camera and gallery without Rooting?

I don't like my gallery or camera app on 4.1.1. I have now. They don't seem fluid with Sense 4.1 on top as well.

It would be great if i could do this without root; does anyone know of a way?.

I've tried Quickpic and some other gallery apps but none are measuring up.

Hi, I just have a quick question.

My Note II Gallery app syncs with Photos in my Dropbox (i.e., any picture file in my Dropbox shows up in my Gallery) which is great and all, but when I have the Camera Upload feature activated, it also syncs those photos (which I took using my Note II), making their presence in my Gallery kinda redundant.

Is there any way for the photos in my Camera Upload f

The camera app doesn't work along with all apps that use the camera. Blank black screen with error message that pops up "Gallery isn't responding. Do you want to close it?"

Opening the gallery works sometimes and sometimes doesn't.

My phone would randomly shut off at times before..

I've extracted the Note 2's Gallery app and the Camera app - and repackage as an update.zip.

For the camera app, it has voice-controlled photo taking.

Download the zip and flash with cwm following the instructions on the website linked up here. It includes jb 4.2 gallery and EVERYTHING works good on my stock rom 4.0.4 with hydracore except that button with 3 circles once the image is built and shown in the gallery. It doesn't overwrite the old camer

When I try to open Talk, it says "Unfortunately, Talk has stopped." When I open Gallery, it's fine.

It's driving me nuts. I am using vignette as my camera app (good app).

Can someone please tell me the difference between /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/dcim/camera and /sdcard/external_sd/dcim/camera

Those are the 2 locations it's saving to. No rhyme or reason to it either. It irritates me because there are 2 folders in my gallery too.
