I have recently had my xfce desktop stop clearing windows when the window is closed. The window's image remains on the desktop, as if it were still open. If I drag the window to a different location, the ghosting from the move remains on the screen. The 'Application Menu' has also stopped working.
The basic idea is like tiling window manager with a fixed identical grid system.
I don't want windows piled up in a same desktop(workspace).
We can have a huge virtual desktop like setting up 4x4(=16) workspaces, and place a new window in each workspace every time when the window launchs.
Using Unity-Expo, it behaves like zoomed tiled windows/desktop.
If there is a vacant workspace, newly launc
I'm writing a desktop. I already know the basics of Qt and GTK+ through Python but I don't understand how to display the finished Desktop. How do you make it the root window of a Window Manager, or is there a method for displaying the desktop I'm not familiar with?
Wise ones,
Okay, so I've managed to commit a couple of newbie fumbles.
First, whenever I minimize a program window, such as a browser, the window does not "drop to the bottom of the screen" and, in the form of a button, take up placeholder residence in the panel. Instead, the window shrinks down to nothing and simply disappears from the desktop.
Unfortunately, I am using Oxygen window decorations already.I do have the "Attach as tab to" option but it is a pain to have to group every window manually.
Ubuntu(or maybe just Unity) lags whenever I minimize a window when there's no other opened window(others are minimized).
I faced this problem after I install Ubuntu Tweak 0.7, Conky, OpenJDK 7, IcedTea 7 (if it does matter)
There's no problem to:
show and hide windows
spread window
open and close window
I have set window minimize animation as Fade 220ms and Animation Time Step as 1 in CCSM b
I am running 11.10 and i need to have a vnc window for the connection to my windows 7 box (booo hiss etc) , i have two screens attached to my pc.
i would like to have a fullscreen dual window VNC window on one of the two workspaces of my ubuntu desktop , currently i can get close to this by manually resizing the vnc window as big as i can on the second workspace when it opens .
New 11.3 install and working the wiggles out one at a time. If I minimize a window on the desktop it just disappears. Any and all open windows. Can't figure out how to maximize it again. They still active somewhere because I have to kill it (crtl / esc) to close Firefox and other windows. Where are they going and I do I modify this behavior. Relatively new to KDE and things are just different.
I'm logged in to a Windows 7 machine from a Windows 7 desktop, using the standard Remote Desktop client.
Is there a key short cut to maximise a window within the remote desktop session (equivalent to Windows+up arrow)?
I want the remote desktop session to NOT be full screen on my client machine, but to easily maximise windows on the remote session to the full size of the remote desktop window.
