http://askubuntu.com – I wanted to replace the old driver that comes from the "Additional Drivers" window with the newest ATI Catalyst driver. I tried installing Catalyst, but it said I had to remove the old driver, so i did. I tried again, but it still said the old driver was still installed, so i figured a reboot might solve the problem. Now I can't boot back up. I can't even get to the purple screen. Once it goes past the BIOS screen, the monitor goes into power save(No video stream). (HowTos)
