I live in Australia, and I text friends who live in the US all the time from Gmail SMS, but there are days where I can't be at the computer, so I'm wondering if there is an app that'll allow me to use the gmail sms on android?
I've tried using the Gmail app on android, and I honestly can't figure out how to send sms through it.
Last few days (must be since the last update was rolled out on Nov 15) my gmail app doesn't sync back to gmail.com. I get updates from gmail.com (new emails, etc.) but nothing I do on my phone gets sent back to gmail.com. I also can't send any email from my gmail app either; they sit in the Outbox forever.
I've used Chrome to set Gmail as the handler for the mailto protocol, but clicking on mailto links opens Gmail in a regular browser window. Is there any way to open Gmail in "application mode" instead of a regular browser window when I click on mailto links?
I'm using Chrome 31 on Windows 7 x64 if it's relevant.
