I had gotten a brand new laptop, a Gateway NE56R10u just the other day and of course wanted to to install fedora which I did without any problems. I have my windows partitions on sda1-3, fedora is sda4-8. I went to update my fedora system to fedora 18 sometime had went wrong. I booted into the LiveCD and removed the linux partitions, and tried to reinstall Fedora to start over again. Well it turns out sometime during this process I scratched the fedora cd bad enough to not install properly anymore, wherever it installs a (HowTos)

hello all. I been in the linux world about a whole week now. I have dual booted my laptop with xp and unbuntu 9.04. Everything is great but I would like to delete ubuntu and give fedora a try. I wish to keep windows xp for now. If I use windows to delete ubuntu partions, soon as I reboot grub will be gone and I will not be able to get to xp.

My notebook and desktop run perfectly on dual systems: Win7 and fedora 17. As I follow the installation procedure suggested by the redhat / earlier fedora system, both my machines have the separated and cleared partitions; for windows, boot, swap and boot partition.

Hello everyone,

On my laptop there's Fedora and Windows XP. After too many problems with XP I've formatted the windows partition and reinstalled XP. Since that, I can't boot anymore on Fedora. This is a computer I'm using at work and I'm not the person who installed Fedora; I've just found 4 CD containing the program. With this, is it possible for me to recreate the boot?

Kindly help me to install Fedora 18 to my laptop, LENOVO, which had Windows 7 OEM. I want to remove that OS, and need to install Fedora. When I tried booting from pendrive, keeping 2 NTFS partitions as such, as I need the files in it, and deleted C: drive, in addition to HDD partitions, some sdc partition is there with 0 B size.

Dear Guys, I upgraded some old systems before from fedora 4 and fedora 6 to fedora 9 and 10 using the cds, When I booted the cds of fedora 9 and 10 it detected the old installed fedora and offered to upgrade it, It sounds nice, I chose to upgrade and every thing went fine, The old fedora 4 and 6 became 9 and 10.

hey could somebody help me with Fedora installation? What I want is to install Fedora on D:\ (sda2). Is it possible to install it if I want partitions like that:

C:\ Windows 80 GB = sda1 D:\ Fedora 80 GB = sda2 E:\ My personal storage 300 GB = sda3 F:\ Another personal storage = sdb1

Hi I'm brand new to Fedora

I started to install Fedora thinking I was just going to place it in the / and /home partitions I already have but the installer only seems to give me the option to use the whole disk.

I have 3 / and 3 /home partitions 2 of each are occupied by Linux Mint and Mint KDE so I wanted to use the last / and /home for Fedora.

I am new to Linux and also new to Fedora 17. I want to install Fedora 17 on my System. I've 67 GB free space, which I want to use for fedora os. I want to know what partitions I've to make and what should be the sizes of those partitions. I will be installing a lot of softwares like 3ds max etc.
