Using the default install of netbook remix with all updates. Say I open for offline reading something than turn the wifi off to save same battery. If I turn the wifi back on in a couple of minutes everything works fine. Otherwise the led turns on, but there is no activity and the network manager does not pick any more networks. So far only a restart would solve the problems.
I'm having trouble with wifi on my MSI U180 netbook using Ubuntu 12.04. When I boot up the netbook, it will connect to my router however after a few minutes the wifi will just stop working and not find or connect to any networks. The only way to get wifi connectivity back is to reboot the netbook however the connection will again only last a few minutes. A wired connection works fine.
I've installed ubuntu's 12.10 version on my Asus eee pc 1000h netbook. But I think, it's so slow when it's opening windows or running web browser(chrome) or something else.
After a google research, I've noticed that this slowness might be caused by Unity.
Now, I wonder what is the best configuration of unity for netbooks or specifically my netbook.

I am looking to switch my Asus 1000H netbook (N270 1.6Ghz processor) from XP to Ubuntu. Is the latest version 12.10 the most suitable for this machine?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Gio S5660 with a Wifi problem.
When I connect to my home, school, girlfriend's Wifi it works fine! When I leave the connection with Wifi (just because I go to school of to a Bar..) and I'm going back to my home, school of girlfriend, Wifi is not connecting to the router.
At first I installed 32bit ubuntu 12.10 & struggled much setting the WiFi by help of so many answer here then I thought to install 64bit as my system is of 64bit. At the installation time itself I couldn't find any WiFi name listed & I connect through wire.

ya see i don't use data mobile when i turn on wifi the 4g symbol suppose to show up usually when i'm out in town i turn off wifi anyways after i turn off wifi after haircut 4g symbol was there then i was in the car turn on wifi then it disappear i thought that's not good i connect at home 4g is gone forever

I am trying to run 10.04 netbook live from a memory stick with a view to installing it on my laptop. However although I can see my wireless router and connect to it I cannot access the internet. I have tried this on my laptop and desktop with the same result.
