Hello,I have a Sybase database install in CentOS 5, and it is listening in the port 5000.I am trying to test if I have access from a Windows 7 machine to the CentOS machine ... [by josea]
I am trying to communicate with a Sybase ASE instance over port 5000 running on a RedHat instance in AWS. Since I can't talk to the Sybase ASE instance, I am troubleshooting with telnet over port 5000.
I wanted to setup a dual boot for Windows 7 and Centos 7
I had a Windows 7 machine with 500GB disk. I shrank the Windows partition to provide space for Centos 7 (roughly 230GB). I created a USB Centos 7 netinstall stick and booted from that. I ran the install configured as best I knew to install Centos 7 into the free space (rather than over the whole disk).
I think I configured my Samba fine, but I cant access the share from a Windows machine. The network is set as bridged in VB configuration and I can ping the Windows machine from CentOS. Also, I can ping it back from the Windows machine.
