http://crunchbang.org – what are trying to install #! from, cd, usb, have you checked the md5 sum? have you tried the recommended method? you do not say which version you have been trying to install, but you should go with Waldorf, since Statler is getting kind  of geriatric, link with how to;http://crunchbanglinux.org/wiki/statler … stallation (HowTos)

I think this is significant enough to sticky for a while. There have been several support requests from members trying to use unetbootin to install Statler. Using unetbootin can cause several problems including grub and login errors. I currently run Statler on my laptop, but now I'm looking to install Crunchbang on my desktop. I was wondering whether I should install Statler or the latest beta on my desktop. If I install Statler, how easy will updating to Waldorf be in the future? I've never done an upgrade beyond just updating packages before. Will the move to Waldorf be simple as that?

Hi all,  I used the dd method to copy over Waldorf x64 to usb. I checked the MD5 of the image first, and then also did the "md5sum -c md5sum.txt" on the usb disk. It came through fine. I've used dd from http://crunchbanglinux.org/wiki/statle … stallation three times. They all checked out fine md5-wise.

HOWTO: Installing Crunchbang "Statler" on a Dell Mini 1010I love Crunchbang, and was going to install it to my daughter's Dell Mini 1010 netbook, but it kept getting stuck at the "Welcome to Grub!" screen. After some exhaustive web searching, I figured out a solution...

I'm trying to install PHP5, by compiling it myself.

I'm doing this on Crunchbang Linux, version 11. Specifically, the version using the 3.2 kernel. Crunchbang 11 is based on Debian. This is a 64-bit Virtual machine, running on a 64-bit Win7 Professional.
