I've been struggling to connect to my home wireless network, but up until now my Broadcom card has been able to at least detect the network. I know this because in Network manager, in the Add Network Connection dialog box, if I tell it to scan for wireless networks then I see my home network along with all the other local wireless networks.
I have a Compaq pessario CQ60, a wireless network, and a Atheros AR5001 Wireless Network Adapter and I cant get the wireless internet to connect. the wireless works fine on vista, and I got the internet working via cable, but I need to get it working wirelessly. I am a beginner to linux, but know a little ( nothing in terminal though).
I have Compaq presario laptop with Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g wireless adapter. I am using fedora core 10. I am able to connect to wireless routers and browse internet. These types of connections are shown as in infrastructure mode.
The problem arises when I connect to an ad hoc wireless network. I am trying to connect with my phone using ad hoc network to access internet.
I installed Ubuntu 11.10 recently. After the first bootup the computer freezes so I have to force-quit my computer.
Then I turned on my computer after that. I tried connecting to the internet. My (and my neighbor's) wireless networks shown up, but no matter how many times I tried, I can't connect to my home network. I checked the password and the other laptop's internet works (a MacBookPro).
at first i could detect wireless networks, but after the computer rebooted after i activated the wireless card, i no longer can. I can connect to the internet via cable, wired connection but not wireless, help? how do i detect and connect to my wireless network.
I just installed Ubuntu on my laptop yesterday and it connected to the wireless fine. Then I took it to school, put it on their wired connection, downloaded some stuff, and now the wireless doesn't work.
At first it would detect networks, but not connect. I restarted it and now it can connect, but it acts like it doesn't have internet in the browser. Wired connection still works fine on it.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L645 laptop. I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS alongside with Windows 7. At first, everything worked fine. But today my Ubuntu system has a problem. It detects every wireless network in the area except my own. I found that my wireless network is 'hidden', although I didn't do anything with its settings at all.
Hi I just deleted my windows XP and installed Ubuntu 9.10 earlier this morning. I used wired connection to get drivers for my wireless network card.
When I did lspci, the very last line states:
Network Controller: Broadcom Coporation BCM4311 902.11b/g WLAN(rev 01)
