I have the following situation
I have an Ethernet only HP Printer which I need to connect to a parallel port PC.
Could I use an External JetDirect card to connect my Ethernet printer to a Parallel port PC?
--UPDATE--
There is an Ethernet port on the PC but it's being used to connect to the Domain. So I can't unplug the PC's ethernet.
First off, I'd like to apologize if there is a topic the same as mine, I have searched for it and didn't find anything similar to this. Now, I installed Crunchbang and I connect my ethernet cable. The little network manager icon turns into the loading/spinning load icon.

Hello everyone. I have a VPN I use for various things. I connect to it using NetworkManager, so when I want to use it I currently have to use it for all my internet activities. I'm wondering if there's a way for me to have 2 ethernet devices, like eth0 and eth1, so that I can connect one to the VPN and the other can stay as is.
I am familiar with BT, been using it since BT3. The problem I have is with 5r3, when I use wicd to connect to the internet. I have BT installed in dual-boot with Windows 7, not in a virtual machine. My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L875D, and the wireless chipset is the RTL8188CE, which I need to use the 8185 drivers.
Hello
Since having to wipe my disk and re-install 11.10 i cannot connect via ethernet. Other devices can connect via ethernet to my router with no issues but the port will no longer recognise any connections. Ive even used ppoeconf to try to connect directly to my DSL modem but it cant detect the connection.
My motherboard ethernet input has broken so I am now trying to use an USB adapter.
The TRUlink ethernet adapter (USB 2.0 10/100/1000 Ethernet Adapter) that I am trying to use does not seem to be working in Ubuntu 11.04.
The output from "lspci | grep Ethernet" is:
Code:
02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
My computer is having difficulties connecting to the internet via a (working) ethernet cable, and I wonder if anyone has suggestions on how to fix it?
I've looked up a couple of different explanations, but none of them (or their relative solutions) seemed to help much.
