Hi,
I am new to Ubuntu. I just installed Ubuntu Netbook on my Dell Latitude D610. I need a wireless USB adapter to use the internet. I decided to make use of the SMC EZ Connect g 802.11g Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter, which I used on Windows XP. Unfortunately Ubuntu recognizes the adapter (lsusb in the terminal). But that's it.
Ok my dell's internal wifi card works fine, but i bought a usb adapter to obtain a stronger signal but i cant seem to get it to work and ditch my internal all togather, it has the proper drivers.
here is a little output if it helps

Hello all, I am in a predicament getting Ubuntu to recognize my USB wireless adapter. When I entered "lsusb" I got the following:
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0846:9020 NetGear, Inc. WNA3100(v1) Wireless-N 300 [Broadcom BCM43231]
Of course, this was for the one particular hardware.
Hello all, I am a fresh convert to the linux scene and I know virtually nothing about this beautiful piece of engineering.
I recently reformatted and dual partitioned to both Windows 7 as well as ubuntu 10.10.
Loading works fine and Windows 7 is 100% operational. I cannot seem to get my wireless network adapter to be read by Ubuntus 'Windows Wireless Drivers' gui.
So I installed a partition on my computer that has Ubuntu, but there's a big issue. My NetGear wireless internet adapter (WNA3100) doesn't work.
I was using this guide here: http://matthew-4gl.wikispaces.com/wna3100_ubuntu_linux and it worked up until I typed the command sudo make install.

Hi,
I have Desktop PC Dell Inspiron 530, Double boot with Windows Vista.
Hi,
After googling around, I followed some of the steps I'd seen in this forum to get the usb adapter working.
