Opensuse 11.2 comes with a nice Network Manager application and when I first configured my wireless network everything went ok. Unfortunately after shutting down and turn it back on somehow it is being detected but could not enable it again. I still cannot access to internet. May I know why?? Is it due to the Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A)

the step i did: 1) iwlist eth1 scanning 2) sudo iwconfig eth1 essid shabana key s:xxxxxx 3) invoke firefox ... cannot surf :(

Do I need to set dhclient??? how should I set?

Hello there, I am new to RedHat, and I installed RHEL 5.1 on my laptop (Acer aspire 4736z). After my installation I found out my LAN and wireless network is not working.

using following command shows my ethernet and wireless devices as :

/sbin/lspci

I am trying to connect my Aspire One running ubuntu 9.10. I am using Wicd to configure wireless. I am on a school campus that has a couple hundred wifi points that all have the same key and ESSID. I can scan and see networks, and I set the network to use encryption, and to use WEP (passphrase).

When I try to set my Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8187 Wireless Adapter to master mode I get the following error:

Running Mandriva One 2010, wireless works great in Live mode. When installed, I can only connect to unsecured networks (BTFon, BTOpenzone) but not to my own BTHomeHub network, which has a WPA key. I guess the problem is something to do with wpa_supplicant, but I'm not 100% sure what to do about it.

I'm running the 64-bit version of Fedora 12 on a MacBookPro5,1 system. I am unable to connect to my wireless network, which shows up in the list of available wireless networks.

I will enter my password and the system will try for several seconds to establish a connection and then fail.

I am running Ubuntu..my wireless network is picking up everyone elses but mine? How can I reconfigure to my wireless network?

Hello, I am using fedora 12, for about 2 months and now I am facing for the first time a problem with the wireless router. After a router restart my computer cannot connect with the router even if it is listed along with other access points on the list. I am sure the password is right because I am currently online with my windows partition using the same router.

Hello! I'm a 1st time user of linux and don't really know much about it so sorry if my question is not appropriate or something like that. Anyway, I installed ubuntu on Virtual machine workstation and vm is installed on vista. My problem is related to connecting to wireless networks trough ubuntu. I don't know how to see them.
