Please help as I am pulling my hair out once again after trying for over 15 months off and on to get a tv tuner working under linux. I have just received my new tuner card which I thought was supposed to be easy to run, a HVR-950Q, no luck yet.
But first I am trying to use something called mysql (new to me), for mythtv and [I] keep getting
I am running Mythbuntu 12.04. I have an HVR-1800 card and an HVR-950Q. After installing Mythbuntu, I set up my cards and everything worked well. I added the xc5000.conf file to /etc/modprobe.d to correctly load the firmware for the 950. I recorded several shows and rebooted a few times. Everything worked correclty. Hello everyone, I haven't been on these forums in awhile. When buying a TV tuner card, if I have HD digital cable, what do I need to get? The TV tuner would be going after the cable box. Do I still need a digital card? I'm looking for a TV tuner card that fills the following things: 1. Works with a digital cable box 2. Has an onboard processor 3. Also has great Windows 7 support
I want a cheap, (therefore old and used) laptop TV tuner so I can plug a Playstation 2 into my Thinkpad W500 without needing an additional monitor. Currently running XP SP3 but toatlly can upgrade to Win 7 and probably will down the road.
