The phone has impressive specification including Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, 1.2 GHz MT6589 quad core processor, 5 inch touchscreen with HD resolution.
The Huawei P6 is a super-slim device with some serious horsepower, but its successor, the Ascend P6 S, promises to pack even more punch. Launched today with not much fanfare, the P6 S is a bit thicker (6.5 mm) but has the same battery capacity, 2,000mAh.
While it lacks LTE support, there is now a quad-core 1.6GHz processor. It’s also a dual-SIM, dual-standby phone.
It seems like we have been waiting for the release of the Huawei Ascend Mate for a really long time, but in reality Huawei is not too late in releasing the device relative to some of our earlier projections of a February release date. Huawei has confirmed today the giant phone will be available in the Chinese market on March 21 for 3,120 yuan ($500 USD).
Just when we thought Samsung pushed the envelope with the Galaxy Note II and its 5.5-inch display, Huawei drove right over it with the Ascend Mate that was announced earlier today. It sports a whopping 6.1-inch IPS display at 720p. Seriously folks this is just about Nexus 7 territory, but Huawei thinks the consumer will eat it up.
Huawei’s Ascend P6S isn’t their only device that has leaked. Today, the Ascend Mate 2 has posed for some photos and we have information on the specifications for the handset. This phablet’s screen comes in at 6.1-inches. But we now know that it will be a 1080p IPS display. The Mate 2 will have a 1.6Ghz quad-core Cortex-A9 processor with 2GB of RAM and Mali-450 GPU.
As the phablet craze continues to really take off, we are seeing more and more offerings from respective Android manufacturers. Not content to allow HTC and Samsung dominate the party, Huawei has gone ahead and a 6.1-inch beastly phablet called the Huawei Ascend Mate.
