Background: I am still on ICS 4.0.4 rooted and unlocked (atleast ez unlock says im unlocked and i have superuser and voodoo says im still rooted) .
However, when I try to flash a custom recovery , ROM manager gets stuck at 100 % and closes. I have also tried installing a custom recovery via EZ recovery, and it says its flashed.
So, before flashing custom ROMs, I made a stock rooted restore, recently I tried restoring to it, and it went successful, until it wants to boot.. I'm just stuck at a black screen. Only able to access recovery. Forced to flash back a custom rom =/ couldn't even get to the sprint boot animation. Anyone know how to fix the boot issue?
Hi guys,
I've created this topic, because I have some questions, I'm new at android. I want to install a custom ROM(CyanogenMod 9.1) and want to make sure I'll do everything right.
ive just unlocked the bootloader for my xoom 4g (stingray) and went to install a custom recovery and it flashes fight in fastboot then when i reboot into recovey it shows the green android logo laying down then shows the red ! . i have to hold the power and the up volume key to show stock recovery.
why is the custom recovery not sticking. is it because im not rooted?
I have recently acquired an original Motorola Droid with android 2.2.3. I have rooted using SuperOneClick and tried to install clockworkmod recovery using Rom Manager. When I tapped reboot into recovery, it simply went to the default recovery screen. I then tried to install it manually using RSD Lite and it still just went to the default recovery screen. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I rooted my phone by odin method . Flashing clockwork mod recovery over stock recovery . And somehow I was able to install Superuser.
But now when I try to reboot in recovery it takes me to stock recovery mode not custom recovery.
I tried both recovery and they work for a while and after some time they dont.
Why is this happening ?
