HTC Upgrade - Verizon Shared Data Plan

http://androidforums.com – Love my gingerbread Dinc. But, the wife has a clunker LG and wants a phone like mine. When Verizon launches the shared data plan I will give her my Dinc and upgrade me :-) I would like to stay with a HTC phone but do want the latest Android OS. Suggestions and recommendations? (General)

Hello everyone,

My contract with Verizon is up and I'm allowed to get a discounted phone. However, I don't want to change my plan (I have an unlimited data plan). Is there any way to get an upgrade on a phone and NOT have to pay the full price of about ~$550 for a new phone?

And what would you guys recommend for a new phone? I am using a Thunderbolt now, and like high-end phones.

I extended my contract with Verizon when I purchased the Samsung Galaxy S3 this August (the supposed cut-off was June or July). I thought that everyone getting a new, discounted 4G phone would have to give up their unlimited data plan and be placed on a 2GB / month plan?

My wife has the iPhone 4S with unlimited data. I jumped into the smartphone world late in the game and never got unlimited data. Anyways, my question is, when my wife upgrades to a 4G phone, will she be able to keep unlimited data? When I went from a 3G phone to 4G, Verizon told me I had to get a 4G data plan.

After hearing all the hubbub surrounding Verizon’s plan to cut off unlimited data, T-Mobile’s VP of marketing Andrew Sherrard decided it was the right time to announce that they are on the side of the consumer and agree that shared data is not the way to go.

OK, so I currently have a wifi aokp ics HTC flyer, iPod touch 3rd Gen jailbroken , hp touchpad dual booted with android and web os, and Samsung fascinate on miui 4 used only with wifi and has no plan of any kind, I bypassed activation.

Hello XDA, i have some sad news for you guys. Well, Verizon's new dumb as F*** policy is when you use your upgrade you areNO LONGER ALLOWED to have unlimited data plan!!!!!! I AM DEPRESSED. WHY VERIZON WHYYYYYYY!
