http://forum.xda-developers.com – HTC One just features 2 buttons i.e HOME and BACK no MENU key. Obviously menu key is not required by many apps on holo interface it is somewhat useful in certain apps. Htc one will utilize the home key long press for menu. Initially it will be frustrating but once getting used to it wont make you feel awkward Multitasking comes by DOUBLE TAPPING the home key. This is great i think users will find it great once they actually start using device. Though you can change the button behaviour from settings just like htc one x so dont worry 2 buttons are enough for every task easily Sent from my L (HowTos)

Hi.

I've seen some threads about mods for the menu button but never ending with a flashable zip.

I really like the CM10 feature of customising the long press of the capacitive menu button. I make it show my recent apps and that way I don't have to press the hardware home button.

Has anyone found a zip with this mod? It would be great to be able to use it with any Rom.

I am trying to remap the menu button to pull up the recent app and long press from menu. Then have long press of the home button pull up Google now. I am able to easily do this with CM, but I want to have this feature and run AOKP.

Did some searching on this. I know you can got to the file in system/usr/keylayout/sec_touchkey.kl and edit the remapping of the keys.

So I might be missing a trick, but every one seems to complain about the black bar in curtain apps on a HTC, Surly if the menu button is needed in an app on other android devices them the black bar would still be there, along with the back, home and multitasking buttons?

Hi everyone... I'm loving my new sgs3, I have rooted it and installed CWM but I haven't seen a rom I like yet... this is due to button macros. I was originally A sgs 1 user with the 4 carrier buttons and the drop to 3 is something I'm trying to fix.

Here's the idea:

I'd like to remap the keys in my N7K as follows: -Long press home button for search -Press current menu button for multitasking (show open apps) -Long press current menu button for menu option.

The others would operate the way they do currently.

Any kind person could help with this? Thank you in advance!

Hey Guys

I used to be able to Long Press the Home Button, and it would show all the apps that I have running, and I would be able to close my recent apps by swiping them.

Now, whenever I Long Press the Home Button, it does nothing.

I have Nova Launcher Prime and WidgetLockerPro (not sure if this app will be the problem or not), and I'm in the settings, and it should work.

I'm at Nova S

Coming from the Original EVO 4G 1 day into this phone i am missing that menu button, most especially for closing apps. like when i'm browsing and i dont want to hi the back button 40+ times to close the browser.

I have got rid of the 3 dot menu bar which is easy(zip file posted). But trying to remap recent apps was a fail. When I try to remap recent to menu it would affect home button not working so in the zip is the file the original file to remap buttons if you want to take a look and see if anyone here can remap recent to menu.

Howdy all, bit of a problem.

I made my app compatible with both pre and post 3.0. Before 3.0 most phones had menu buttons which led to settings or other menu options. Since 3.0+ the dev guide has depreciated the menu button so phones don't need it. ICS and JB don't use them.

So how do I let users access it?
