In a statement this afternoon, HP has announced the Australian TouchPad will receive a big price drop before it goes on sale locally next Monday.
HP announced it would discontinue its current WebOS operations, including the TouchPad tablet and smartphones, including the HP Pre 3 and the Veer. The announcement comes after reports of sluggish sales of the TouchPad, which has struggled in the market despite 20 percent price cuts....

Remember when everyone was frantically looking for an HP TouchPad during their fire sale? I must have called 5 different Best Buy stores in my area with no luck. I have to say that, even today, I still love the beauty and finesse of WebOS. Of course the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich offers a very similar charm, but WebOS was clearly ahead of its time.
