I am expecting pico projectors to grow in popularity over the next year. Samsung tried it with the Galaxy Beam with minimal success, but it might make a lot of sense as a standalone unit. QP Optoelectronics will be showcasing such a device at CES called the CloudView, but what’s cool about it is that it’s a short throw pico projector.
PandaWill opened pre-sales on a $221, Android-based pico-projector that can be used as a standalone mini-PC via Bluetooth-paired peripherals. The pocket-sized EPICT EPP-100 runs Android 4.2.2 on a dual-core Allwiner A20 SoC, offers WiFi and dual USB ports, and displays 800 x 480-pixel, 35 lumens images at up to 80 inches away.

Just wanted to know if anyone has been streaming from their android phones to a projector. I recently picked up a micro usb (male) to hdmi mhl cable (male) (with additional port to connect micro usb power cord). Problem is that the projector does not recognize the phone.
I was wondering if there is a package/app that will allow other network enabled devices to use my system as a network projector. I see there are some threads on connection Ubuntu to a network projector but nothing for a server.
In my office, I have a older projector and I would like to attach my Ubuntu desktop to it.
