I'm running on the latest Xorg package, and running catalyst/catalyst as my drivers for my ATI 6950. I've basically exhausted all my other resources as to trouble shooting this issue. Basically the segfault happens most often when opening new windows in my DE (awesome wm). It also happens when I re-read the awesome configuration.
An update after an afternoon or two of messing around with it:This xorg.conf gives me dual-monitor support but with no SLI: http://pastebin.com/64LNGUNtThis xorg gives me SLI but only supports one monitor: http://pastebin.com/KAqGYQgfSo, I took those two and tried to splice them together: http://pastebin.com/FuWx6DP5When this loads, it seems to basically ignore the SLI options and behaves like the
Hi,
I have been having lots of trouble getting my system up and running after I installed a Radeon HD 5850 on my suse machine.
I did as they told by uninstalling the previous drivers and installing the new ones as stated in ATI Catalyst™ 10.2
Linux Installer Note.

2)sh ./ati-driver-installer-10-2-x86.x86_64.run

I have ATI HD2400 card and used normal Linux-drivers on 11.2 64 bit. I tryed the Catalyst 9.11 driver before but it does not compile correctly on 11.2, so I unloaded it and went back to standard driver.
HP ProBook 4530s info:
Intel Core I5 2410M 2.30 GHz,Radeom HD 6490+Intel HD Graphic Family.
How to install fglrx(and which version) on this machine? On 11.10 I had many problems with installing these drivers.
So I have a T400 with two graphics cards. Were running the integrated but wanted to get the discrete ati working to. Switched graphics cards and got ati working by installing drivers from their website. Switched back again to integrated intel and had problems with getting the graphics to work, well compiz and games doesn't work.
AMD has released a new Catalyst 12.10 driver for Linux. I was hoping that with with catalyst 12.10, legacy drivers (version 12.6) will be updated to support xorg 1.13 (required for Ubuntu 12.10).
However, this release seems to be a complete joke.
As I remember, all the time, after fresh-installing Ubuntu on my HP ProBook 4530s, the Radeon graphics doesn't work, it uses Intel Sandybridge Mobile instead.
