http://forums.fedoraforum.org – My HP LaserJet 6L is refusing to print for me under Fedora 11. I had no problems with it under previous versions of Fedora, and indeed it's still printing fine from my laptop running Fedora 8. When I try to print something it says it's out of paper, but it isn't. /var/log reports:Nov 10 20:42:13 epicyclic HP-LaserJet-6L: io/hpmud/hpmud.c 292: invalid uri hp:/par/HP_LaserJet_6L?device=/dev/parport0 Nov 10 20:42:13 epicyclic hp[7104]: prnt/backend/hp.c 814: ERROR: null print job total=0 Nov 10 20:42:13 epicyclic kernel: hpcups[7103]: segfault at 0 ip (null) sp bf9e701c error 4 in libfreebl3.so[110000+43000] Which doesn't look promising at all! /etc/cups/printers.conf reads:# Printer configuration file for CUPS v1.4.1 # Written by cupsd on 2009-10-20 21:18 <DefaultPrinter HP-LaserJet-6L> Info Hewlett-Packard HP LaserJet 6L Location localhost.localdomain MakeModel HP LaserJet 6l, hpcups 3.9.8 DeviceURI hp:/par/HP_LaserJet_6L?device=/dev/parport0 State Idle StateTime 1256069713 Reason media-empty-error Type 8425484 Filter application/vnd.cups-raw 0 - Filter application/vnd.cups-raster 0 hpcups Accepting Yes Shared Yes JobSheets none none QuotaPeriod 0 PageLimit 0 KLimit 0 OpPolicy default ErrorPolicy retry-job </Printer> I tried changing the driver via the GUI, but don't really know what I'm doing, and in any case as I said it used to work with previous versions of Fedora.
