Hello, I am new in linux, I did boot my pc by live cd of fedora 18 86-64, everything was fine and I can see my desktop, and then I choose its option to copy it to hdd, it is installed successfully and rebooted but after reboot from hdd I am seeing a black screen with a curser, no any mouse pointer , not any hang, its just black !
I recently bought a HP Envy 6t-1000 and am having trouble installing and getting Ubuntu 12.04 to work properly on this Ultrabook.
When I boot up to install Ubuntu 12.04 it will post all the text to the screen and then the screen will go black once the GUI starts up. To get past this I hook my ultrabook up via HDMI to a monitor and I can then go about installing Ubuntu.
I have Ubuntu on a USB and a Windows 8 laptop. Secure Boot is off and I also have Legacy Support enabled. When I choose to boot from my USB, the CAPS lock icon light flashes and then I get a bunch of commands. The first line is something along the lines of W-N Block (2,0), etc.
