Hi All, I have read previous posts where people having fedora 17 and different all-in-ones from
hp were not able to scan.
My problem is rather strange: I am able to print and scan, but in the xsane main window, where the
different options for the scan are available, the one corresponding to the resolution is empty, and no
option appears.
Moreover, when I use hp-scan directly from the comm
Fedora 18 can print to, and scan from, the HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf MFP, with some significant difficulties.
Lessons:
- Take note of the IP address it recites when it first adjusts to your network.
- To acquaint Fedora with it ... Install the hplip package, then run hp-setup.
Hi all -I have done a fresh install, added printer support through the post-installation script, installed hplip and xsane but when I try to print the print job status sticks at 'processing' and when I use simple-scan it reports 'device is busy'.I can print and scan under Ubuntu 12.04 so I know it isn't the machine or the cables.Does anyone have any suggestions please?
Hello,
I have a trusty HP all-in-one solution which works via the wireless. It used to be detected automatically, print automatically, and scan automatically. The model is Photosmart Prem C310 series.
I haven't used it in 2 weeks or so.
Upgraded Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04 & printer/scanner not working, in System Settings/Printers/Print test page it just stays in queue, under Options there are no Allowed Users. Simple Scan says Unable to start scan, Xsane ditto plus Error during device I/O. Google has a hundred different solutions for every hundred different contributors, most out of date, tried reinstalling hplip.
When Running as root user xsane starts-up almost instantly and is able to perform scans.
When running xsane as normal user it takes abbout 5-10 minutes before xsane starts (it hangs on scanning for devices), after that it shows the scanner and it is able to perform the scan.
I have tested this when the Printer/Scanner is connected over network and on USB, with both hplip 3.11.7 (supplied wit
I try to follow http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/14434...buntu-live-cd/ to do a virus scan. When I get to the last bit where I want to start the scan, the "Start" scan button is out of reach. It is well below the bottom of the screen.
Just installed Ubuntu 9.10 and having tried many previous releases I can say that I was very impressed! I was very impressed when my HP printer/scanner which is networked was detected OK and printing is no problem. However my happy mood was dashed when I opened XSANE and was told no devices were found. The HP site says that 5100 devices should print and scan over a network with Ubuntu 9.10.
Xsane always comes up "scanning devices" when I call it up from Applications > Graphics.
It then finds the HP PSC 1350 scanner (so far so good) and the PCTV Rave video card (not so good).
When I press the scan button on the printer/scanner, nothing happens. I believe it to be because Xsane finds both devices and doesn't know what to do next.
