Qualcomm is buying wireless chipset maker Atheros for $3.1 billion, in a move designed to help the company grow beyond its traditional business as a technology supplier for mobile phones and deeper into such areas as smartphones and tablets....
Could you, pls, help me with my wireless card Atheros AR9285 on Ubuntu 10.12..
I've already went through all possible advices and still cannot start my wireless card.
I have a laptop Toshiba Portege Z830 where Wifi've already worked under Windows 7.
But after migration on Ubuntu 10.12.
I've been chuckling. Inside. Silently. OK, not so silently. Never mind that little show called CES. The big tech news today is Qualcomm's $3.2 billion (with a "b") acquisition of WiFi chip maker Atheros.
I recently installed Ubuntu on my Eee for university. The first day that I used it at the university I had no problems until I suspended it and came back later to see the wireless has been disconnected and it is not finding any signals.
Just now I have installed 9.04 in my Lenovo z570. I am new to Ubuntu. By searching on various community, I come to know that I need to install wifi drivers to make wifi run because the output of lshw -c network shows that wireless drivers are unclaimed and output of iwconfig shows No wireless extensions.
My Lenovo G580 series comes with Atheros Network driver which has some problem with wired network in ubuntu based backtrack 5 r3x64.The WICD Network manager detect the wired network connection but cannot connect to it.After shown the message "Putting interface up" nothing happen only a message "not connected".
