Howdy, - I have an older ACER laptop that's been running Ubuntu 10.10 for a couple years. Now that I'm getting the no support notices, I want to install Ubuntu 12.04. The boot freezes just after I get a notice about b43 drivers. I've tried various combinations in the F6 menu with no luck. Here's something strange: I have a Dell Mini9 with a blown SSD.
I'm the happy owner of a MacBook Pro mid 2010 as far as I remember. Its running 10.7.xx. Latly it has been feeling slow and i have upgraded the RAM from 4 to 8 Gb. No luck and now I would like to run ubuntu for a more pleasent and fast experience.
Welcome, monkeymind. You might want to use the search function in the upper right (that magnifying glass thing) to see if there are any topics already in the forum that have the information you're looking for (I think it might). Good luck.
Howdy RIVE - ¡Beinvenido!I just joined, and have the non-working wireless issue to deal with as well. Will see how that goes tonight. My system (Lenovo G560) has Intel wireless (I think???).Good luck and welcome.
I've spent a good chunk of time hunting around for a solution to my problem. No luck. My USB devices are giving me trouble. The computer recognizes them, but is unable to mount or unmount them automatically (or by rightclick > mount volume).
I have a laptop which works very well with windows 7. It has 4GB memeory and 650 GB Hard disk drive. It is Intel-based with core i7. I downloaded Ubuntu but every time I run ubuntu my laptop gets hot , slow and it is suddenly switched off interrupting my work. I do not know what is the exact problem but I thought the problem with the hardware. It might be not suitable for Ubuntu.
