AllTray is an application which docks other application software into the system tray (“notification area”) of a desktop environment such as GNOME, KDE, or XFCE. It aims to be independent of both desktop environment and window manager.
With AllTray you can dock any application with no native tray icon (like Evolution, Thunderbird, Terminals) into the system tray.
How do you set the system tray icon for wifi, power, or audio applets? I'm using herbstluftwm, and lxappearance for setting my themes but the system tray icons don't reflect my other icons.

Am running 11.2/KDE on dual Athlon 32 bit. On startup the hplip device manager tries to place its icon in the system tray, but this fails with the message "No system tray detected on this system". The system tray is not yet present, but appears moments later.
Hi,
I have problem with tray icons on Ubuntu 11.04.
1. Application icons - sometimes are shadowed and inactive, e.g. when I click on skype, thunderbird icon - nothing happens.
2. Other icons - indicators are never in that state, but sometimes theirs menu don't expand.
So as more of you know, ubuntu has dropped the whole thing about tray and bringed something new called indicators..
Does anyone have any custom Dropbox system tray icons? It sits on my screen all the time, but it's the only thing on it that is in color, and that can be distracting. I'm hoping to tone it down with some grayscale icons.
It happened on my old PC and it still happens with the new one, with a fresh Ubuntu 12.10 installation (Unity).
When returning from a screen lock (I couldn't say if it can be replicated in other ways), some indicators are missing: pidgin, thunderbird (with firetray extension), jdownloader...
I don't know whether those indicators have something wrong regarding unity's tray or something related wit
With tint2, I can't seem to change the system tray icons straight from the system tray. Would the easiest way to change the icons be to replace the source images? If so, where can I find them? Any other suggestions would also be appreciated!
